Barcelona

As many of you are coming from away, we wanted to put a quick guide on how to best get to Barcelona as well as get around here.

Flying to Barcelona

There is one main airport in Barcelona - Josep Tarradellas - El Prat (BCN) and we suggest you fly there instead of other airports in the surrounding cities. This is the closest and most convenient. Other airports are Reus to the south and Girona to the north, both about 1.5 hours away by car to the center of Barcelona.

To get to the Barcelona city center:

2

By Taxi

[Recommended] Taxi takes about 30 minutes to the City Center from the airport and costs around 30-35 Euros. At the airport, the taxi line is a 5 minute walk from the baggage claim. There are many taxis and the line goes very fast, and is better than calling an Uber / ride-share. You will need to make sure to follow the signs for the official line!

Once you are in the city, it is very convenient to get a taxi and call a taxi with the below local apps but Uber should work as well.

  • FreeNow

  • Cabify

3

By train

The train will take about 45-60 minutes. If you want to take public transportation from the airport.

Several train routes get you there depending on where you are staying.

  • The Orange line,  (to Zona Universitaria, L9S) a few stops and then transfers depending on where you're going.

  • RENFE R2 Nord takes 4 stops and goes to Passeig de Gracia and the main train station Barcelona Sants.

The ticket can be bought from the machine right next to the entrance. Some machines only take Spanish cards. There is a counter next to the machine in the airport.

4

By bus

First, you can take the A2 bus from the airport to Plaza Espanya - two stops (20 min). Then, transfer to the red metro line.

Sitges

If you booked a hotel in Sitges and are going directly there, here you have these options.

3

There's a direct Bus Garraf at Terminal 1 (if you arrive to T2, then you'll need to take a free shuttle to T1). Bus times can be found here.

4
